MK Data Services & EntryPoint Announce Strategic Alliance

MK Data Services has long been the go-to data provider for Sanctioned Party (Denied or Restricted Party) listing along with Export Compliance information like updates to changing Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR), ECCN and USML listings etc. A growing number of these customers are uploading this information into SAP’s Global Trade Service® (SAP GTS) product as their trade compliance engine. Now hundreds of major companies around the world are now using GTS to support their global trade needs.

EntryPoint Consulting has teamed up with MK Data Services to help streamline this effort and make it easier to interpret the information in a way that is easily integrated into the GTS solution. By merging the long trusted data provided my MK Data Solutions and the years of GTS experience from EntryPoint Consulting, we are able to help companies convert the Export License Regulation data into an easy to understand format which then can be simply loaded into GTS to support their export requirements.

The Sanctioned Party List is already in a format which allows it to be uploaded without any manual intervention and has been working seamlessly for years. However, because the Export License Determination can be unique for different companies there has been no standard format for these files to enable this process to be fully automated. Our solution to this problem is a process oriented workflow that enables all parties involved to execute a piece of this process for an accurate and efficient solution. The process works as follows:

1) MK Data Services screens the regulations for updates or changes

2) These changes are documented and passed to EntryPoint Consulting to identify and document any changes that could be pertinent to the Client

3) The Client and EntryPoint Consulting review the proposed changes and agree on the changes that need to be reflected in the GTS system

4) EntryPoint Consulting makes the proposed changes in the GTS Test System

5) The Client tests and signs off on the changes

6) The changes are then moved from the GTS Test System to the GTS Production system.

"This offering allows everyone to play to their strengths as well as cut down on un-necessary administration to help keep the Client focused on more strategic and critical issues facing the company", says Dave Moore, Vice President of EntryPoint's Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Practice.

Other offerings from EntryPoint Consulting are: Level 1 screening of Master and Transactional Data in GTS (blocked partners and documents), Classification of Data (rules based), and ad hoc GTS Functional/Technical support.
